1925 Dodge Watercar Model 822 - 'DAZZLE'
Owner: Mike Favilla
Home Port: Saint Joseph, WI
This boat was discovered by Canadian restorer Jim Potter around 1988 near Orillia, Ontario, Georgian Bay. She had been owned by "Captain George" at Honey Harbor on Severn Sound. The boat had no engine, but with twin exhaust ports Jim knew she was a Model 822 which would have had the Curtiss OX-5! Interestingly, the Dodge family had an estate on Manitoulin Island, very near Honey Harbor, and a rumor still exists that this may have been a Dodge family boat! In the early '90s the boat was purchased from Mr Potter by Lindsey Hopkins III, of Atlanta, and restoration began. No epoxy, plywood lamination, fibreglass, only traditional construction methods. She has been repowered with a 350 V8-43 mph GPS! "Dazzle" was delivered to Mr Hopkins for the Mt Dora Show in 1994, which was the same period that Mike Favilla met Mr Hopkins and was his crew mate on the St Johns river trip. Since that time She has won Best of Show at Mt Dora and many other shows, most recently Best Antique Runabout(class) at the International Show in Muskoka 2009. Sadly, Mr Hopkins passed unexpectedly in 2004. His widow, Wanda, agreed to our purchase of 'Dazzle" one year later. Our family could not be more proud to own such a piece of history and share ownership with such individuals as Jim Potter and Lindsey Hopkins III.

1941 Chris Craft 105 Deluxe Runabout - 'Rumour'
Owner: David De Horn
Home Port: Glenview, IL
1941 Chris Craft 17ft. Deluxe Barrelback Runabout #71769 Owned by David and Claire De Horn RUMOUR was completed in Algonac, Michigan and shipped to Miami, Florida, on January 27, 1941 which coincidentally, was my father’s 1st birthday. The same day, the following RUMOUR was leaked: "The Peruvian minister has informed a member of my staff that he had heard from many sources, including a Japanese source, that, in the event of trouble breaking out between the United States and Japan, the Japanese intended to make a surprise attack against Pearl Harbor...." After hearing this RUMOUR, Joseph Clark Grew, US Ambassador to Japan wired the following warning to FDR and the US State Department on January 27, 1941: Telegram #125, 1/27/41 18:00 Tokyo, Japan to US State Department “My Peruvian colleague told a member of my staff that he had heard from many sources including a Japanese source that the Japanese military forces planned in the event of trouble with the United States, to attempt a surprise mass attack on Pearl Harbor using all their military facilities. Although the project seemed fantastic the fact that he had heard it from many sources prompted him to pass on the information.” We all know what happened less than 11 months later……..
1932 Chris-Craft 300 - 'Ragtime'
Owner: Peg San Felippo
Home Port: Milwaukee , WI
This is a preserved 1932 Chris-Craft Runabout 16'. The 2nd boat Chris-Craft made. I had been totally re-finished as of this July. My family purchased it and re-finished it when I was a teenager and sold it when I was in my late 20’s. I bought it back 5 yrs ago from the people we sold it to. They had not re-done anything to Ragtime while they owned it. It took over two years to complete refinishing it. Mary Richter from Fine Yacht Finishing LLC, was able to restore it perfectly right down to duplicating the way my Dad had painted the name on the back of the boat originally.
1937 Chris Craft Custom Delux Runabout - 'OLIVIA ROSE'
Owner: John Wenstrom
Home Port: McHenry, IL
This is the pre-barrel back design produced from 1935-1938. It has the same hull but different deck layout. It is estimated that a total of 328 units were built in this 4 year period.
Not sure about the early history of this 19’ Custom but do know she spent much of her time on Lake Geneva and was in remarkably good condition when purchased in the summer of 2012. She has the Model K 85hp engine and has been converted to 12 volts with dual batteries.
Fox River Valley Boat Company completed the exterior restoration over the winter as we elected to completely strip to bare wood and finish it with 12 coats of varnish. The interior, the chrome and all the mechanicals were in great shape and just required a good cleaning.

1940 Chris Craft Deluxe Utility - 'Wooden Nickols'
Owner: Tom Nickols
Home Port: Lake Geneva, wi
Wooden Nickols, a 22-foot Deluxe Utility was shipped from Algonac to Hessel, Michigan in June 1940. The owner of the Hessel grocery store purchased the boat to deliver groceries to summer residents on the surrounding islands, naming her Calli Sue after his granddaughter. The boat was acquired by an Ohio family and moved to Indian Lake, Ohio and renamed Smoove. We originally understood this was because of how, Smoove the boat went through the water. It was actually how Jackie Gleason's character in the Homeymooner's described how his cocktails went down, 'Smoove". The boat was moved to Iowa and received a new 5200 bottom and fresh varnish. Renamed Traveler it hit the road visiting a number of boat shows. The boat was relocated to Geneva Lake in 2007 and renamed Wooden Nickols. In frontier day's paper money was moved by stage coach, coins however were too unwieldy to ship. Local merchants banded together and "issued" nickels. dimes and quarters in wood. A merchant's life was short, so every few years the current crop of businesses would issue new coins and stop honoring the old ones. Hence the saying, "don't take any wooden nickels."

24 Chris Craft Sedan Cruiser - 'Old Fashioned Sweet'
Owner: Brian Wolfe
Home Port: Madison, WI
‘Family Madjic’ was built in Chattanooga TN, from there she made the journey to Clayton, NY. In 2000, the boat was purchased by a man who sent the boat to Ken Wykes, a well-known restorer in Canada. Ken stripped the whole bottom off and replaced anything that was needed. The owner took the boat back and was going to finish it himself. Around that time he got a terminal illness and could not work on the boat anymore. The family really wanted to have the boat finished for him. Since he was a good standing member in his local ACBS chapter, the chapter members jumped in and finished the boat for the family. It was launched in July of 2014 and used the rest of that summer. The latest survey (2016) described her as a “fine living example of an antique cruising vessel.” In April 2016 she made the 1000 mile journey from Osgoode, Canada to Madison and now calls Lake Mendota home. After taking the summer off 2015 off she is eager to get back in the water. She now waits patiently for her new owners to take her out for cocktail cruises after work; which is why she will be re-named ‘Old Fashioned Sweet.’ A new era has begun.
1954 Shepherd Hardtop
Owner: Bergersen Boat Co.
Home Port: Lake Geneva, WI
This Shepherd is in excellent condition, it has received many awards; the most recent being Best Classic Cruiser at the 2016 ACBS Show. Current owner has taken friends on numerous ACBS cruises across the eastern US including on: the Mississippi, the Three Lakes Chain, the Eagle River Chain, the St. Lawrence, the Rideau, the Upper Ottawa, the Hudson and the Finger Islands of Huron. The hardtop with crank up side windows and windshield wipers provides both space for friends and foul weather protection during cruise events. To our knowledge this Shepherd is the only 24' hardtop in active use. Shepherd offered hardtop versions of their classic open "V" driver cruisers, but very few were built. The hardtop version has 6 inches more freeboard and a foot shorter deck to provide more space under the hardtop. It also includes a second row of forward seats, in addition to the large aft bench seat. The open 24' Shepherds had only one row of seats forward. The hardtop arrangement accommodates up to eight under cover, and seating for four more than the open cruiser arrangement. The original Hemi V-8 has been rebuilt. In addition to replacing the transom, the chines, frames, all of the interior side paneling, flooring and fuel tank have been replaced. The power train has been converted from a remotely activated hydraulic shifter to a classic floor stalk shifter for greater ease of docking. Boat is equipped with a Garmin GPS, an InterPhase forward scanning sonar and a marine phone. These units are mounted on a mahogany bracket in front of the dash on the right side of the helm. These units make cruising much safer. All seats have been re-upholstered in a shade of green matching the steering wheel and the new stalk knobs. Comes with a custom built removable maple picnic table which can be installed in front of the rear bench seat. A tandem axle trailer with brakes as well three boat covers are included. $69,000

1949 Chris Craft Riviera
Owner: Robert ODay
Home Port: Cary, IL
Chris Craft Riviera serial number R18-015. The picture you see is from the day I bought it. After doing some research, this might be the oldest Riviera still in existence and as the boat was built in June of 1949, it just celebrated its 70th birthday. This year will be the first time the boat has been in the water in over 34 years.
The boat was acquired from my neighbor who had lost interest in the boat over 10 years ago and a little over 6 years ago a complete restoration process was started. The boat was completely disassembled down to the frames. A 5200 bottom was put on and all of the exterior planking was replaced and the top deck planks are all from the same tree and are book matched. I had done some minor restoration work on other boats in the past, but this was my first major restoration and I did all of the restoration including the engine myself.
A big thank you goes out to Tom Wagner from Fox River Valley Boats for his guidance and support and also to Don Dannenberg and his loyal followers on his website forum as without all of their support and knowledge, this restoration would not have happened.

She is named after my daughter, Emily, who was born May 22, 2014 with a genetic anomaly called Trisomy 18. 1948 Chris Craft Sportsman - 'Effie'

Families came from all over to experience Gordy’s famous speedboat rides- “A millionaire’s thrill for 1 thin bill.”
In front of you is the family’s original boat. She holds special meaning to the family as a reminder of our history over the past 65 years. We hope you enjoy seeing this boat here as you reflect back and look forward to building more great boating memories with your family on Lake Geneva.

1959 Century Resorter - 'Fifty Nine'
Owner: Jim Hayek
Home Port: Davenport, Ia
19' 1959 Century Resorter with the Gray Marine V8 225 AMC Block. 1959 CENTURY 19' RESORTER - in typical Century fashion they were always at the cutting edge of Boat Designs in the 1950's and 60's. Often following the automotive styling of the day they came up with some very interesting and sometimes controversial designs. The 1959 19 foot Resorters were one of those. Introduced in 1958 they broke traditional design with a very unique squared off bow which was often compared to the deck of an aircraft carrier!! That said the sales for the 19' Resorter were 170 boats in 1958 and then up to 180 in 1959 which was significantly more than the previous model it replaced..
1957 Chris Craft Continental - 'Birchwood'
Owner: Karen Birch
Home Port: Barrington, IL
This boat was purchased new in February of 1957 by Karen's late parents, Robert and Maxine Birch, of Griggsville, IL. Her dad became a Chris Craft dealer in 1956 and Karen has his original franchise certificate. This boat is all original and Karen has the boat's original order form, invoice, service manuals, prop, fenders, hand spot light, ladder and water skies that her dad used. Her dad's captain hat sits so proudly on the boat's dash. Karen uses one of the original canvas boat covers that had never been used and was being stored in her dad's attic. This boat spent most of its time on the Illinois River in central Illinois where Karen has great family memories. The last time the boat was in the water was in the summer of 1978 on the Mississippi river. Since then the boat had been sitting on her original cradle and boat trailer in a machine shed on the family farm. In May of 2010 the boat was transported by flatbed to McHenry, IL where it was completely restored by Fox River Valley Boat Company. The summer of 2011 was Birchwood and Karen’s first year of boating. Since then the boat has won various awards through the years at various boat shows. In September 2016 this boat was given the honor of being on the cover plus an article in a national boating magazine called “Classic Boating”. The boat was never named so Karen choose "Birchwood" in memory of her late parents. Karen's late parents are always with her on this boat and this boat is a constant reminder of how wonderful her parents were and the fabulous childhood they gave her. When asked about the boat Karen always says: “I made a promise to my dad that I would take care of his boat. I that’s what I intend to do”
1955 Chris Craft Sportsman - 'Phil's Woody'
Owner: Phil Olson
Home Port: Palatine, IL
1955 Chris Craft Holiday - 'Wood Works II'
Owner: Richard Randall
Home Port: Heyworth, IL
I found this boat 7 years ago in the woods in Northern Minnesota covered with a fallen in tarp. Fortunately, all the hardware and original motor were intact and had a decent trailer that made it possible to pull it back to central Illinois. I spent the next 4 years completely redoing every aspect of the boat; new no soak bottom, transom, decks, and even some of the ribs, and hull sides. Being in the custom cabinet business for the last 39 years helped in the wood restoration. Every mechanical aspect was completely redone, chrome refinished, and a few updates to make the boat more use able; boarding ladder and swivel bucket seats. I contacted the Chris Craft regarding the embroidered emblem and was given permission to use their copyrighted logo on the back seat. The only modification to the original KLC engine besides totally rebuilt was I added an oil filter and electronic ignition. Although I have restored other boats this one will be my first Boat Show Entry and I'm looking forward to seeing other old boats and meeting people who love preserving and restoring old boats also.
1957 Chris Craft Continental - 'Little Gem'
Owner: Jane Shepard
Home Port: Williams Bay, WI
Jane grew up in Lake Geneva and, in the early 60's, her father had a little Chris Craft Continental that she loved to drive. Not too big, easy to handle and fast! Of course, she went on to college, got married, settled down in Minneapolis and raised three children. But she always remembered fondly that little Continental.
In early 2014, with the kids raised and out of the house, we decided to find a vintage Continental to call our own . One way or another, we were steered to Dave Watts at Little Rock Boat Works in Rice MN. Dave convinced us that if we were patient, he could find us a boat that needed a bit of work, do the work and we would be happier with the final product than buying someone else's restoration project. We bit.
In June that year, Dave told us he had found a hull in Canada with "excellent bones," but indeed it did need some work. That was the understatement of the century! No engine, no windshield, little if any interior finish and a hull that was holed on both sides. A month later he had secured an original Chris Craft, 6 cylinder MCL engine that would meet Jane's requirement—go like crazy and have enough power to water ski behind. To us, it looked like a pile of rusted scrap metal.
Dave refused to give us a firm budget, and then proceeded to vastly exceed what we had imagined. But his workmanship was superb, with intense attention to every detail—he never missed a chance to find and install refurbished original Chris Craft parts—and the restored engine was a thing of beauty. Jane was there at every turn, making sure the boat would meet her style requirements—teak floor boards, built in liquor cabinets, the perfect color finish, drink holders, custom gold leaf name on the transom and forest green upholstery throughout.
Then, finally, just over a year after securing the holed hull, Dave delivered the Little Gem to us and Jane was once again in love with the boat of her childhood.
1957 Chris Craft Continental - 'Miss Kimmy'
Owner: Bill Shultz
Home Port: Glen Ellyn, IL
This boat was originally built at the Michigan Cadillac Plant and shipped to the Inland Marine Boat Company in Williams Bay, Wisconsin (Geneva Lake) in July, 1957. It was named VEVA at that time and spent time on various lakes in Wisconsin. It ended up in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, where the current owners, Barb and Bill Shultz, found it on a Craig’s List Ad in 2010. Ironically, the boat was being sold by Mr. Roger Stieglitz, who happened to be Bill’s high school wood shop teacher in Lombard, IL in 1972.
After Barb and Bill purchased the boat, it was renamed MISS KIMMY, after their daughter. The boat has now returned to Geneva Lake, where it continues to be appreciated every summer.

1959 Chris Craft Continental - 'Sportin A Woody'
Owner: Nick Caselli
Home Port: Williams Bay, WI
Sporti'n A Woody is a 1959 18' Chris Craft Continental, Hull# CL18-0825. This classic was shipped from Cadillac Michigan on July 31, 1959 to Mairs Marine in Minocqua Wisconsin. She was used as a ski boat and a family pleasure boat for about 8 years and put 236 hours on the engine and was then put away after the family bought a fiberglass boat in the mid 60s. Sporti'n A Woody was then sold to a collector in Milwaukee and put in storage for another long hibernation. Fast forward more then 30 years, yes this boat didn't see the light of day for more then 30 years, she was then put up for sale in August 2001. When we saw her, we had been looking for 2 years, we knew this was a special boat as it was ALL original and still is. The interior, a rare coral color, is in very good condition as is the motor, wood, gauges and even the trailer. Very little had to be done to put her back in bristol condition. Since we purchased her very little work has been done until the winter of 2010. That was the year we had her completly revarnished. Now Sporti'n A Woody has 260 hours on the engine with most of those 24 hours being put on going to our Geneva Lake shows and some evening cruising on those perfect nights. Sporti'n A Woody has won numerious awards including best utility, best Chris Craft, Most original and now Sharpest Arrow.

2003 Grand Craft Grand Sport Runabout - 'Irish Ayes'
Owner: Ross Lynch
Home Port: Lake Tomahawk, WI
This Grand-Craft combines state of the art woodworking techniques with old school craftsmanship; modern performance technologies with classical, tradional styling. Each Grand-Craft is hand-built requiring thousands of man-hours; a month or longer, just in the finishing room. Grand-Craft employs a special wood epoxy saturation process that bonds multiple layers of wood to achieve unsurpassed flexibily and strength. This saturation process not only protects the wood but also eliminates the need for “soaking up” the hull. The craftsmen mill and color match Philippine mahogany, which is preferred for it’s sound/shock absorption. Each piece has been hand selected on the basis of it’s reddish-brown hue and grain. Fir stringers run the length of the hull for added strength. All hardware is hand-cast in brass or bronze, which is plated in copper, nickel, and chrome. Heavy as it is handsome, this strikingly beautiful hardware exemplifies the quality of a Grand-Craft boat.

I built this boat between September 2018 and June 2019 using a set of plans from Berkley Engineering. I launched the boat for the first time on June 9th at Pike Lake in Hartford, WI. The boat is 9 feet long and is powered by a 70lb thrust trolling motor on a 24 volt battery system that propels it in displacement mode at 3-5mph. Construction is 1/4" and 1/2" plywood, with Douglas fir used for the keels and bow stem. 1972 Chris Craft Lancer - 'Han me Down'
Owner: Jane Shepard
Home Port: Williams Bay, WI
Jane grew up with a house on Geneva Lake. In the 1960's and before her father, John, had classic wooden boats: Chris Craft Holidays, Continentals and others. When he decided to switch from a wooden boat to fiberglass, the 23' Chris Craft Lancer was a perfect fit for him: inexpensive, utilitarian, deep V kept the passengers high and dry, an inboard engine, to which he was accustomed, and design lines very similar to the wooden boats which he had always owned in the past.
John purchased his Lancer new from Gage Marine, and promptly named it "Maid Marion" to honor Jane's mother (Marion). The boat proved to be everything he had hoped for: simple, reliable, dry, largely maintenance free (owing to its fiberglass hull) and a perfect ride to get him from his house to the golf course on the lake.
In 1983, when Jane's parents retired full time to Florida, the Lancer went from their hands to ours, a great boat for us at our lake home outside of Minneapolis. With that transfer, the craft was renamed the Han' me Down, since it had in fact been handed down from Jane's parents to her.
In the ensuing 35 years, one step at a time, Jane turned the Han' me Down into a more stylish and attractive version of the utility boat it was designed to be. First, the swivel captain seats were replaced with built in box seats, sporting liquor storage cabinets on the backside, the aft bench seat and engine cover were reupholstered and the indoor-outdoor carpet was removed. The next upgrade brought us a new mahogany windshield to replace the somewhat rickety aluminum original, together with teak trim around the inside gunnels. Finally, the cabin floor was converted into a teak and holly sole.
Other than normal maintenance and repair, the engine, electronics, steering mechanisms and the like are original from 1972, and after 47 years, still work perfectly.

This classic lake boat was bought at auction for restoration which was completed this year. After spending many years on Geneva Lake this boat is back in the water for years to come. The Lyman Biscayne has a fiberglass, lapstrake hull that is timeless in its styling and durable in its construction. The teak adds to the richness of the interior giving the boat a classic look inside and out. This vintage beauty retains its classic styling with some modern touches like Boss Bluetooth stereo, woven flooring and captains chairs with adjustable bolster. This classic Lyman currently resides in the Abbey Harbor on Geneva Lake and is for sale and includes a trailer in excellent condition and new custom cover by Undercover Canvas in Walworth.
1959 Larson All American - 'Blue Heaven'
Owner: James Cichowski
Home Port: Park Ridge, Il
Blue Heaven was build and named in 1959. She is in her all original state with the exception of the seat cushions which were refurbished in 2017 to the same color, size and specifications as the original (sans the original horse hair and straw cushion materials). We also replaced the compass and the Merc Gear box to support the current 1963 Merc 650 from the original Merc 350. Blue Heaven has been part of our family since 1963 to live our Garage when Dad Bought her outright from his friend and neighbor across the street from our home. My parents raised all 8 of us children using 'Blue Heaven' as our summer fun where we all learned water and boating skills and how to water ski; where for several years our Blue Heaven would pull 2 and 3 skiers at once around lakes. We still have and use the original canvas convertible top, side curtains and stern cover, along with the original state of the art in 1959 Holsclaw boat Trailer.

Owner: Lynn Ricter
Home Port: Fontana , Wi
This Boat is a so called Barn find it was stored in a garage for 45 years.i knew the couple that owned it but never new they had it. I went to visit them to see if they were still with us at there cabin and sure enough they were up in years but fairly healthy when I got the boat. We were walking around there place in the middle of the Nicolet national forest talking about my father and my grandpa which knew them and we walked in the garage and there was a wood boat and he asked me do you wanted to buy a wood boat I told him I was scared about all the things I heard about a wood boat he said he would make an offer that I could not refuse if it didn’t work out he would refund me the money so I bought the boat best thing I ever did. The name of the boat is Boeing’s named after my dog and also that’s when I do for a living fly the Boeing. I surely do enjoy spending time on the water with this boat.

1956 Milo Craft Valkyrie
Owner: Andrew Vogeler
Home Port: Trout Valley, IL
This 1956 15' Milo Craft Valkyrie was built on S. Western Avenue in Chicago Illinois. Milo Craft was a small company that manufactured outboard boats into the early 1990's. This cold-molded plywood hull was a common production technique used after WWII to provide people with affordable boats that were both strong and durable, yet affordable. The hulls were provided by a company called US Molded Shapes which also supplied hulls to companies like Delta, Wolverine and Dunphy to name a few. This boat was purchased and restored by a 10 year old boy back in 2004. The boat and its owner have been featured in numerous magazines such as the ACBS Rudder, Classic Boating and even the Chicago Sun Times. Funded by money he earned mowing lawns in the neighborhood, the project changed Andrew's life forever. After continuing to work on wooden boats for most of his childhood, he decided to pursue a dual-degree in both Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the prestigious Webb Institute on Long Island. Andrew graduated from Webb in 2018 and has since worked for Metal Shark Boats in Louisiana as a Naval Architect/Project Engineer, producing patrol and recreational boats alike for customers around the world.
1955 Moorehouse Utility - 'More Kids'
Owner: Blackhawk Youth Group
Home Port: Geneva, IL
1957 Thompson Sea Lancer
Owner: Frank Lozich
Home Port: Tinley Park, IL
Our Thompson was purchased from the original owners family in 2004. During our ownership much work has been done to keep our boat in ship shape. In 2011 the mahogany was refinished by us, and in 2016 the boat went to Fox River Valley Boat Co. to have the hull repaired and refinished in a beautiful deep dark blue. It is now powered by a Yamaha for reliable cruising. We get a lot of enjoyment cruising the northern Indiana shores of Lake Michigan, the Illinois River and even "channel rattin" along the Cal Sag down our way. It's still a work in progress, but that is also part of the fun owning it!
1956 Ole Lind Cedar Plank Utility Runabout - 'OVERKILL'
Owner: Mike Furibondo
Home Port: Chicago, IL
This is an Ole Lind Cedar plank utility runabout from 1956. Ole Lind built cedar plank boats in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota between 1912 and 1958. I modified it during the restoration so I could use it on Lake Michigan, thus it is not “original”. However, with a fully restored 45hp Mercury Mark58 pushing her along, it is a ton of fun and truly one of a kind!
1957 Trojan Sea Breeze - 'Walleen 2.1'
Owner: Kyle Knoke
Home Port: Waupaca, WI
Inherited in 2015 from Uncle Wally and Aunt Eileen (owners since 1960), the “WALLEEN” has spent most of her life in the Lake Winnebago ports of Neenah/Menasha. Today she likes to cruise Waupaca’s Chain O’ Lakes. This 19’ day cruiser was Amish-built in Lancaster, PA. When I took on the ‘task’ of refinishing, I had no idea what I was getting into. Why didn’t someone tell me?!? Restoration performed on location at Nimphius Boats under the most generous supervision of Alex Nimphius. The WALLEEN is driven by the original twin 1957 Johnson 35HP SeaHorses thanks to life-long service from Doug Bodway of Valley Marine Mart. All-original mahogany decking and plywood hull...with a few custom-crafted accouterments.
1960 Chetek Priceless - 'Why Not!'
Owner: Ron Campana
Home Port: Thomon, IL
WHY NOT!
1960 CHETEK Princess Model 184 - Original Johnson 75 HP V4 This boat was out of service and stored inside a garage in Fulton, IL for 26 years. I purchased the boat on June 1, 2013, and I started refinishing it in the late fall of 2013. I started working on the boat when I retired at age 65, and this is the first wood boat I have ever worked on. I re-screwed the bottom where needed, and I painted the sides and bottom. I also had new interior cushions, convertible top, and matching towing cover made. This is not a restored boat - it is a preserved boat. It has all the original wood and the original motor. I have always loved wood boats. That's why, when people would ask why I wanted a wood boat, I would answer "Why Not!" I have enjoyed taking my Chetek to boat shows during the last 5 years. I have received several awards, including my most treasured Gold Award at the 2017 International Boat Show. As a non-professional, this Award means a lot to me.
I am hoping to sell my boat after this season. I have enjoyed it a lot. It is a fun family boat.

Eric & Kathy’s 1958 Streblow Rebel 19’ is one of the oldest surviving Streblow inboards. It was purchased as a derelict in 1994 and was refurbished and returned to regular use by the Moberg family over the next 3 years. Since that time continuous additional steps have been taken to return it to original condition, with some guidance from the Streblow Boat Co. Most of the side and bottom planking is original. It is one of only two 19’ Streblows built in 1958, and has the original Cal Connell Cadillac Crusader 390 cu. in. engine, which was the most powerful engine available in 1958. Only one other Streblow used this engine. The Rebel is used regularly on the Fox Chain in Northern Illinois.
