This year's ACBS Blackhawk Chapter Geneva Lakes Antique and Classic Boat Show was a winner in every
way with the largest turn out of boats on record and the best weather in recent memory. We had 90 boats in
the harbor and nearly 40 boats on land. Sunshine every day and temps in the low 80’s with mild winds that
kept the lake relatively calm for great boating .
The Abbey Resort was once again an excellent venue for this spectacular event and became a hubbub of activity over the three day weekend.
All the fun started Friday morning at the Harbor House for the Estate Tour Guests and a pleasant surprise awaited the first group boarding the Sea Lark at municipal pier. Geneva Lake was socked in with a dense fog which made for an interesting early morning cruise. The fog burned off quickly and beautiful weather enhanced our morning on Geneva Lake aboard a classic yacht.
The hustle and bustle continued into the afternoon at Abbey Harbor with all the classic boats launching and with the Arts & Craft vendors setting up tents and bringing in their wares.
The days cruise and tours were fun and interesting and guests also enjoyed a delicious luncheon at the Lake Geneva Country Club.
The fine day on Geneva Lake was topped off by a soiree at Colman Woods. Charles’ too cool “Man Cave” was a great setting for members and guests to enjoy cocktails and dinner and ACBS fellowship.
